Dharchula is located in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state. Dharchula is the last village on the India-Nepal border, which is situated on the banks of the Kali river. Dharchula district headquarters is about 91 km from Pithoragarh. This place is surrounded by beautiful greenish hills, in which are dense forests of oak, pine and deodar. The tranquil atmosphere here attracts tourists a lot. From Dharchula, on the other side of the river, Nepal's area and the village is visible. There is a jhula bridge over the Kali river, through which local people of Nepal pass in India.

Mansarovar Lake is a pilgrimage place, where many devotees take a bath in the cold water of this holy lake during the journey. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides. The temperature of here between from 5°C to 15°C in the winter season and the temperature in the summer season is between 15°C to 25°C.
There is no big market or mall to shop in Dharchula. There is a small market here, where only you will find some woolen clothes made by the local people like sweaters, mufflers, hats, blankets, hand gloves and shawl etc. From here market you can buy some woolen garments as a gift for your friends and relatives. There is a different happiness in shopping from here market.
