Golu Devta Chitai Temple is a famous temple of Almora. This temple is located about 9 km from Almora. This temple as Gaur Bhairav, Lord Shiv is dedicated to the incarnation of Golu Devta. It is believed that this temple was built by a commander of the Chand dynasty in the 12th century. Inside this temple, riding on a horse and with a bow arrow in hand is a statue of Golu Devta. This temple built on the hill is surrounded by dense forests of pine and deodar. Golu Devta is known as God of justice. In this temple, devotees offer bell after fulfilling their wishes. Thousands of bells hanging in this temple complex can be seen. Every year a large number of devotees come here to worship.
