Kalsi is a small place, which is located on Chakrata and Dehradun road near the Dakpatthar. This place is on the banks of river Yamuna. This place is located at an altitude of about 780 meters above sea level. In Kalsi has Ashoka's Rock Edict a place where the Ashoka pillar is built on the main gate and there is a beautiful garden inside. Here even today the inscriptions of the famous Maurya Emperor Ashoka are present. This inscription is preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India. The language of articles written in this inscription is Prakrit and Brahmi script. This script is written on a large rock, which is 10 feet long and 8 feet wide. This is the first place in north India where there are inscriptions written on the rock by Emperor Ashoka. After the Kalsi war, Emperor Ashoka converted himself to Buddhism. This place has a huge historical significance.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of rains.
