Dashrath Shila is a popular temple located in Devprayag of Uttarakhand state, which is associated to the period of Ramayana. According to mythology, it is believed that King Dashrath, father of Lord Rama had done penance at this place. There is a small hill called Dashrathachal Peak, where there is a small rock, which is considered as the throne of King Dashrath. It is believed that sitting on this, King Dasharath had done penance. Here is a quiet water stream, this water stream is named after the name of Shanta, the daughter of King Dashrath. Dashrath Shila Temple is a famous religious site for Hindus, which has a great religious significance. Dashrath Shila is one of the main religious attraction destinations of Devprayag.

The best time to visit Dashrath Shila is between the months of September to May. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold. Due to snowfall on the surrounding hills in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
