Gauri Kund is a famous holy kund located in Gaurikund of Rudraprayag district. This Kund is situated on the banks of the river Mandakini. At this place, two holy baths kund are present, one of which in the kund, hot water emits with a mark of sulfur, and the cooling water comes out from the second kund, which is called Gauri Kund, the water of this kund often keeps changing. According to mythology, Lord Shiva had tied the Ganga in his hair. By from Lord Shiva's touch, he became holy. It did not like Parvati that she would always be with Lord Shiva. It is said that when pilgrim passes through the take Gangajal from near the kund, then the water gets to boil. It is believed that if a woman baths with dirty clothes in this kund or throws it in the kund of the clothes then the water of the kund is dried. There is a huge rock named Uma Shankar Shila near this kund. It is said that the souls of 12 saints have resided here. This kund has a great religious significance. During the trip to Gaurikund, tourists visit in this holy kund. The Gauri Kund is one of the main religious centres of attraction in Gaurikund.
