Bhavishya Badri Temple is a famous holy temple located in Joshimath of Chamoli district. This temple is situated in the middle of dense forests near Tapovan on Lata-Malari road, about 17 km from Joshimath. This temple is one of the Panch Badri pilgrimage places. The Bhavishya Badri temple was founded by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD. Shankaracharya has written a prophecy on a stone near the temple. The language in which the prophecy is written, no one has ever been able to read it till today. There is a Shila near the temple here, seeing carefully at this Shila, half the shape of God visible. Here Lord Badri is seated as a huge Shaligram statue. It is also said about the Bhavishya Badri temple that Agastya sage had done penance in this place. Situated in this area, an idol of Narasimha and an incarnation of Lord Shiva is established in a temple. Bhavishya Badri temple is one of the main religious places of Joshimath.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
