Nanda Devi National Park is a National Park located near Nanda Devi Peak of Joshimath of Chamoli district. This National Park is situated at an altitude of about 3,500 meters above sea level. This National Park was declared a sanctuary in the year 1939. This National Park houses the habitat of species various types of animal birds. In this National Park, species of other types of animals like Musk deer, Goral, snow leopard and Himalayan black bear are found. In this National Park, about 80 types species of birds are also found. This National Park is a part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. The total area of this National Park is spread over an area of about 625.60 km². This national park offers a spectacular view of snowy peaks like Dunagiri, Rishi Mountain and Trishul. This National Park was declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Site in the year 1988. This National Park is an ideal place for nature lovers and adventure lovers. Nanda Devi National Park is one of the renowned National Parks of the state of Uttarakhand.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
