Vridha Badri Temple is a holy temple located in Joshimath of Chamoli district, which is situated in the village of Animath near Joshimath. This holy temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is situated at an elevation of about 1381 meters above sea level. In this temple, Lord Vishnu's idol is established as an old man. Hence this temple is known as named of Vridha Badri. It is believed that in order to delighted Lord Vishnu, Devarshi Narad Muni had done penance here. Delighted by the penance of Devarshi Narada Muni, Lord Vishnu appeared as an old man and answered the penance of Devarshi Narada Muni. This temple is remains open for the devotees throughout the year. During the Joshimath journey, pilgrims go to darshan this holy temple. The Vridha Badri Temple is one of the main religious sites of Joshimath.
