Gurudwara Shri Nankana Sahib is a religious pilgrim site of the Sikhs located in Kashipur of Udham Singh Nagar district. This Gurudwara is associated with the first Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji of Sikhs. Shri Guru Nanak Dev came to this place after visiting Nanak Matta and Nanak Puri. According to mythology, the Dhela river used to cause destruction in the city every year by flooding, which was ruined the city every year. When Guru Nanak Dev Ji reached this place, at that time the locals people looking for a safe place, had gone come to the brink of abandoning their homes. Guru Ji asked the local people to be patient and advised them to stay there. It is believed that when the local peoples do Kirtan-Bhajan, like touched the steps of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, likewise the river itself calm, after which there was no flood came here. It is said that the name of the river was the first Swaran river, Guru ji thrown a Dhela in the river, since then the name of this river has changed into the river Dhela. Gurudwara Shri Nankana Sahib is one of the main religious places of Kashipur.
