Maletha Village is a famous small village located near Kirtinagar of Tehri district. This village related to Madho Singh Bhandari, which was born in the year 1595 in this village. Madho Singh Bhandari was a great brave person. His father's name was Sonban Kalo Singh Bhandari, which was a great warrior. In the village of Maletha, Madho Singh Bhandari created a tunnel without any modern equipment, which still remains a subject of research. Through this tunnel, Madho Singh did supply water to for the villagers ratherAlso irrigated the land of Maletha. Because of the Madho Singh Bhandari, the 'Maletha Ka Sera' remains a means of livelihood for thousands of people today. In the 17th century, Madho Singh made a tunnel canal by cutting the mountain nearly 150 meters. Chandrabhaga river flows near the village itself, the water of the river was released on the canal, but the river's water was not moving beyond that tunnel. Seeing this, Madho Singh Bhandari got disturbed. On one night, his Kuldevi appeared in Madho Singh's dream and they said that the water in the tunnel would come only when he will give his only son Gaje Singh's sacrifice offer at the mouth of the tunnel. One day, Madho Singh took his only son to near the tunnel and offer sacrificed his. At the same time, water from the tunnel reached the village. A statue of Madho Singh Bhandari has also been established near Maletha village.
