Banasur Ka Kila is a famous tourist site located in Lohaghat of Champawat district. This fort is situated near the place called 'Karnarayat', about 7 km from Lohaghat. From Karnarayat to Banasur Fort, can be reached after walking distance of about 1.5 km. This fort is situated at an altitude of about 1860 meters above sea level. At this place, Banasur was killed by Lord Sri Krishna because Banasur had kidnapped grandson of Sri Krishna. Hence it is also known as the named of the fort of Banasur. It is believed that it was built during the medieval period. Built in a mountain style, the stones have been used in this fort and its texture is like a natural minaret. "Lohawati river" is also near this place. From this place can be seen in the Himalaya's magnificent mountain ranges. The Banasur Ka Kila is one of the important attractions destinations of Lohaghat.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
