Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple is a famous temple located in Mukteshwar of Nainital district. This temple is also known as named of "Mukteshwar Dham". This temple is situated in the Kumaon hills at an altitude of about 2316 meters above sea level.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. To reach this temple, happens about 100 stairs have to climb. This temple has a shivaling of white marble with a copper vagina. This Shivaling is surrounded by idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Hanuman, Ganesh and Nandi.
It is one of the eighteen main temples of Lord Shiva, which is situated above the highest point of Mukteshwar. In this place, devotees receive spiritual and mental peace. From here the snowy peaks of the Himalayas like Nanda Devi and Trishul are appears.
