G B Pant University is a famous university located in Pantnagar of Udham Singh Nagar district. This university is known for agricultural and technology sectors. This is India's first Agricultural University, which was inaugurated in November 1960 by Jawaharlal Nehru in the form of "Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University" (UPAU). Later, the name of this university was changed to "G B Pant University Agriculture and Technology" in the year 1972 in memory of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, honored with Bharat Ratna.
