Gurna Mata Temple is a famous religious temple located in Pithoragarh. This temple is about 13 km from Pithoragarh. The actual name of this temple is "Pashan Devi", but this temple is famous as "Gurna Mata" due to being it's near Gurna village.
Before 1952, the small form of this temple was present under the road, which was used to worship by the villagers and other devotees of the area. In the year 1950, after connecting the Pithoragarh region's traffic, in this route, passengers were scared due to continuously accidents.
Then the temple priest had a dream that the temple of Gurna Devi Mata will be blessed of devotees by installing on the side of the road and from which the number of accidents will stop. Immediately the temple was constructed on the side of the road, from which that the accident was stopped.
Near the temple is the spring of cold water, whom the devotees accept as a sacrament. Due to the establishment of this temple on the highway, the devotees surely go to darshan the Gurna Mata temple.
