Pithoragarh Fort is a historical fort located in Pithoragarh. This fort was famous in the named Bauliky stronghold during the Gorkha regime and famous as the London Fort in British rule. In the 18th century, this fort was constructed by Gorkha kings. It is said that in the year 1789, after the invasion on the town, this fort was built by Gorakhs. 152 holes have been made to run long guns on this fort wall. The length of this fort is about 88.5 meters and width about 40 meters. There are two doors to enter the fort. There are about 15 rooms inside the fort. The main building of the fort is two storeys. A basement was built in this fort, in which precious goods and weapons were kept. After the Treaty of Sangoli, the British changed the name of this fort to London Fort in the year 1815. There is a Shila plat inside the fort, in which mentions the soldiers sacrificing in the First World War. During the trip to Pithoragarh, tourists visit in this fort.
