Bharat Temple is a famous temple located in Rishikesh. This temple is situated on the banks of the holy Ganges river. This temple was built by Shri Shankaracharya in about 12th Century. At the sacred place of this temple is the statue of Lord Vishnu, which has been made up of Shaligram stone. This temple is considered to be one of the most beautiful and most ancient temples. This temple is named after Lord Rama's younger brother Bharat. The original form of this temple was damaged during the Taimur invasion in the year 1398.
