Swami Dayananda Ashram is a famous ashram located in Rishikesh. This Ashram is situated on the banks of the holy Ganga river. This ashram is a centre of the study of Vedanta and Sanskrit. This ashram was established in the year 1960 by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. Swami Dayanand Saraswati was an internationally recognized teacher of Vedanta and the most famous scholar of Sanskrit. The ashram also has a library, which includes more than 5000 books like Vedanta, Sanskrit grammar, Indian and Western philosophy, religion and Yoga on various topics. Regular Iyengar Yoga Camps are organized in the Ashram. Regular residential courses are organized in the ashram with the meditation on the Bhagavad Gita and ten major Upanishads.
