Kamleshwar Temple is a famous temple located in Srinagar Garhwal of Uttarakhand state. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to legend, by slaughtering Lord Ram Ravana, when the sin of Brahmahatya was felt, then according to the guru Vasishta, he came to Devbhoomi for the worship of Lord Shiva. By coming to this place, they worshiped Lord Shiva with thousands of lotus, whereby gave the name of this place "Kamleshwar Mahadev". Once Lord Shiva decided to test his devotion. So one day Lord Shiva made one lotus disappear. When Lord Ram did not find the flower of one lotus from 1000 lotus flowers, So Lord Ram wanted to removing his eyes as a lotus flower, then Lord Shiva appeared in front of Lord Ram and stopped him from doing so. This is the reason that Shri Rama is known as 'Kamleshwar' or 'Kamal Nayan'. There are statues of Ganesha and Shankaracharya in the lateral part of this temple and in a room made in the main temple, statues of Saraswati, Ganga and Annapurna are established. It is said about the establishment of the temple that the temple was originally designed by Shankaracharya. Like every year, the four-day fair is held every year in this temple on the Baikunth Chaturdashi (the day before the full moon of Kartik month).
